Information on this firm is scarce but what is known is that these
clocks were “premiums” for News Boys reaching their subscriptions quotas. The case were varied in style and this on is mahogany.
The clock was designed to run on two # 6 dry cell batteries or three volts and would run for about a year. On the bottom
front of the dial, this clock is identified as an “American Self-Winding Clock Co., Chicago, Ill” The movement is patent
# 945,716, Jan. 4, 1910 by J. Granz and assigned to The Trinity Electric Clock Company, Chicago, Ill. These clocks are considered
to be relatively scarce.
